Elder Martin will return to his family in Canada today. We are grateful for his diligent, service for the past two years.
This is some of the experiences that have taken place in our lives as we have been called to serve as Mission President and wife of the Mississippi Jackson Mission in 2009. We are now adding some candid shots of our missionaries as they move the Work forward in this Great Mission. Sorry to report that we cannot include everyone, we try to hit some of the highlights.

Clinton Fireside planned by Sister Beckstrand
Jackson Branch Primary Program
We visited the Jackson Branch and enjoyed the sweet testimony of the Primary Children. It doesn’t matter the size of the Primary, the songs they sing and the thoughts they share always bear testimony to all.

Sign that Fall has begun
I was told that Fall is starting when the Spider Lilies appear. I was walking one day and in a neighbors yard I saw them. According to the internet, they appear, grow to 18” and bloom all in about a week. Because of this they are called “surprise lilies”. Their foliage will start to appear later in October.

Monroe Stake Conference and a Trip To Texas
We spent the weekend in Monroe for Stake Conference with Elder Stephen D. Posey and his wife. Our testimonies were strengthened as we met with and shared testimony with Elder Posey, the members and those learning more about our church. On Monday we traveled to Texarkana to meet with some of our Elders, along the way we saw some cotton that had just been harvested and of course some oil wells. The purple and pink flowers in Monroe were beautiful and I couldn’t resist a photo of them.

Elder & Sister David F. Evans Visit The MJM
We were privileged to spend a few days with Elder and Sister Evans. Saturday and Sunday we spent at the Jackson Stake Conference. We were reminded of “The Rescue” and were committed to help someone come back.
Monday we met with the Shreveport and Monroe Zones in Monroe.Tuesday we met with the Hattiesburg and Gulfport Zones
Wednesday we met with the Jackson and Clinton Zones. We spent each day with Elder Evans helping us understand how Obedience will allow us to have the Spirit, The Doctrine of Christ and Finding Quality Investigators. In addition to the wonderful teachings, the privilege of having one of the Lord’s anointed in our mission was truly a blessing.
