Thanksgiving 2010 in the Mission Home

We had a nice relaxing day at the Mission Home for Thanksgiving. Elder & Sister Rogers, Elder & Sister Erickson and the Assistants Elders Knight and Knowlton joined us for dinner this year. We love and miss our family at home, but would never pass up an opportunity to express our love and gratitude for these wonderful missionaries who do all the behind the scenes work for the Jackson Mississippi Mission.

Annual Turkey Bowl in Madison

Every year the Madison Ward hosts a “Turkey Bowl”, the morning of Thanksgiving Day. I am always grateful when the game ends and we don’t have any elders with injuries. Smile

Zone Leader Council November 5th

This months Council focused on the importance of planning and setting goals, our Zone Leaders are Elder LeCates, Renshaw, Thurgood, Enos, Piggott, Christensen, Norton, McBride, Ryan, Belt, and Shoell.

Yummy Object Lesson

For Zone Leader Council this month Elder Knight and Elder Knowlton who are the Assistants to the President, used a chocolate fountain to show how teaching with the Holy Ghost flows from the President to the Assistants, to the Zone Leaders, to the District Leaders, to the missionaries who are then able to coat the investigators (the fruit) by teaching with the power of the Holy Ghost in preparation for baptism. I never realized how much a chocolate fountain resembles roasting marshmellows over a campfire, and our Zone Leaders loved it.
