Interview week with Elder and Sister Hoffman

We spent the week with Elder(Doctor) and Sister Hoffman as they toured the mission with us. We spent a day in Gulfport, Hattiesburg, Clinton, Monroe, and finally Shreveport. Dr. Hoffman visited with the missionaries about stress management and then gave them an opportunity to meet with him on an individual basis. Each missionary was given a Book of Mormon and President Tucker challenged them to read and mark all references to the Savior, the Spirit, Christlike attributes, and the Doctrine and Principles.

Elder Somppi Returns Home

IMG_0144

We will sure miss Elder Somppi who had a bicycle accident and shattered his leg a couple of weeks ago. His mother came to help him after he was released from the hospital. They have been staying with Brother and Sister Atteberry, we sure appreciate their willingness to help. Today they returned to California so Elder Somppi’s leg can continue to heal at his home. We got permission to leave the mission to transport them to the New Orleans airport, the closest airport with a full size airplane.

Butterflies

I've noticed several different butterflies flitting around the yard and thought I would try to take a photo or two, I realized that it is not that easy and finally settled for these photos of a bright yellow one who actually stopped long enough for me to take his picture.
