Pumpkin Carving Halloween Day

The Assistants suggested a pumpkin carving contest.  Since President & Sister Tucker love roasted pumpkin seeds, we encouraged the activity.  It was a beautiful day and any excuse to spend a little time in the Sun was well worth it.

Good Time to Visit the South

Elder & Sister Staheli our Area Medical Advisor and wife spent the week with us as we toured the mission. They offered flu shots to the missionaries and visited with those who had medical concerns while President Tucker interviewed the missionaries.  Saturday we had some spare time so we took them to Mama Hamils, a yummy place to eat Southern Food.  Elder & Sister Tucker had some special guests as well, we all had a fun day together.

Vehicles . . . .

These are some specialty vehicles we have seen the past couple of weeks – I find it odd that the Chevy Blazer has “antique car” license plates

Street Sign in Vicksburg

Missionaries always seem to find unique street signs to take pictures of and we are no exception.  On our way home from Vicksburg we found this sign and I had to get a picture of it. (Sister Tucker’s maiden name is Clayton)

Vicksburg Ward

We had a wonderful Sunday with the Vicksburg Ward.  After Sacrament Meeting, we attended the Spanish Sunday School Class with our missionaries.  After church we ate lunch with the Bishop’s family.   These boys got their favorite treat – Jello, for being good during church.

Homeward Bound

After serving their best, and with a strong desire to see their families, these faithful missionaries prepare to return home.  We always miss them, but know we will be eternally linked  for serving together in the Mississippi Jackson Mission.IMG_0173

Transfers

Some of the missionaries, including all of the new missionaries meet at the Jackson Stake Center, in Clinton.  Some climb on the transfer van while others drive to their new area with their companion.  Pictures are often taken of a missionaries family tree.  In this picture Sister LeBaron poses with Sister Hanley who she trained, Sister Harding who Sister Hanley trained and Sister Hawkes who Sister Harding will train (4 Generations).

Evening in the Mission Home

New Missionary Lunch and Orientation

The Airport Elevator and Gathering Luggage

Just as soon as all the missionaries gather their luggage, we head to the elevator for kind of a strange tradition. Today 13 missionaries climbed into the airport elevator for this photo.

Bike Accident

We are happy Elder Hatch had his helmet on when he flew over the front of his bike!  His injuries could have been even worse!  He had his accident on Thursday and started training a new missionary the following Tuesday, his new companion has  had some great opportunities to serve him while he recovers.
