The Airport Again

Elder Guerra who has been serving with Elder Sharp in Meridian is traveling to Brazil today, on our way to the airport I noticed an interesting sight in the sky, the sun was to the left but a reflection created a bright ball of light on the right. It may be called a Sun Dog – but I am not sure.   I love the beauty of the earth and sky.

We Attended Church in New Boston, Texas

President Tucker has a soft spot in his heart for Texas, because that is where he served his first mission.  We decided to make the 5 hour drive to visit the ward in New Boston.  We were greeted by our faithful missionaries.  Elder & Sister Konrad are such a strength to the members here and help out Elders Merrill and McGary whenever they need a ride or help teaching.

Zone Leader Council

December Zone Leader Council we focused on losing ourselves in the Lord’s work.  We need to remember Daily repentance, scripture study and love for everyone.  President David O McKay said, “The greatest battles you will fight will be within the silent chambers of your heart . . . If you surrender, if the Lord wins, you win also.  If you win, if your will prevails, you and the Lord both lose.  Lose yourself in the Lord’s work and you will win beyond your wildest imagination.”  New Zone Leaders this month are: Elders Dietz, Hansen, Higgins, Nielsen, and Redmon.DSC_0131

Thanksgiving in the Mission Home

We had a wonderfully relaxing day on Thanksgiving.  We spent the morning watching some of our missionaries participate in a traditional Turkey Bowl football game.  We had the traditional dinner and put together a yummy sampler of each of the different types of our favorite treat, M&M’s.  We are truly Thankful for so many things, one of which is the wonderful opportunity we have to be in this beautiful part of the World helping to gather the elect.

Traveling Along the Florida Panhandle

Our day continued with a long stretch of driving through the Florida Panhandle, I realized we had been on the road a while when I saw the moon rising in the late afternoon.

Mission Presidents Seminar - Passing Through Alabama

We had the opportunity to travel to Orlando, Florida for the Fall Mission Presidents Seminar, we chose to drive rather than fly and saw some interesting sights along the way.  For some reason leaving our mission boundaries seems fun these days, we enjoy seeing our neighboring missions.  We drove through Mobile, Alabama, they actually have a tunnel that goes under the harbor, so the ships can come and go without passing under a tall bridge.
