It was wonderful to share the joy of Elders Nelson and Dean who have helped these three become the newest members of the Jackson Branch.

Creatures In Our Yard

We have captured  photos of some creatures living in our yard.  It seems as the Summer heats up so do the Cicada, they are about 2 inches long and make a very unmistakable noise, occasionally one will get separated from the trees, they certainly are not very attractive.  Today I looked out the back door and discovered this snake enjoying our back patio.

Baptism in Vicksburg

It was wonderful to be able to attend the baptismal service in Vicksburg.  Our Vicksburg Elders have been working hard and are enjoying the fruits of their labor with the newest member of the Vicksburg Ward.

District Meeting in Picayune

We were able to attend a District Meeting in Picayune, Elder Djanie did a wonderful job of helping his district learn how to love and serve each other.

District Leader Council–Hattiesburg

We met with our District Leaders serving in the Eastern Part of the mission.  They were taught and encouraged to Love those who they serve,  to set a good example, and to help all of our missionaries to be Preach My Gospel Missionaries.

Mini Mission Experience Clinton Ward

We attended a fireside where the Priests of the Clinton Ward shared their experience of serving with our full time missionaries.  It was a testimony building experience for everyone involved.

Display In Ocean Springs Meetinghouse

In an effort to encourage members to invite friends to hear the
Gospel Message, Elders Johnson, & Wadsworth from Ocean Springs and Elders O’sick & Bruderer from D’Iberville, worked hard to organize this awesome Display.

District Leader Council–Monroe

We spent the day with the District Leaders serving in the Western part of the mission.  They were reminded of the importance to lift, encourage, inspire and bless the missionaries in their districts, and to strive to be Preach My Gospel Missionaries.

Sister Peets Returns to Salt Lake City

We have enjoyed having Sister Peets serve in our mission the past couple of months.  She is returning to Salt Lake to complete her mission on Temple Square.

Monday Brings A Hearty Welcome

We greeted Sister Calaway along with her son and daughter-in-law as they stopped en-route to Slidell where she will serve in the Employment Center.

Returning home in time for school, Elder Bishop was greeted by his brother Ben who helped him find his way home to his parents.  We appreciate his dedicated service, as a Spanish speaking missionary and  as a leader in the MJM.

We attended church in Columbia, and were greeted by Elder Hintze and Ison.  We also were able to spend time with Elder & Sister Ryan who do so much to support the Columbia Ward.

August Zone Leader Council

This month at Zone Leader Council we were reminded to be humble, be good examples, to love those who we serve.  We were also reminded that missionary work is spiritual work, not temporal work and that we need to consecrate ourselves spiritually.  As we study and learn, the words we need will come to our minds.

August Starts With A Bitter Sweet Departure

We have really grown to love and appreciate Elder & Sister Erickson.  We will miss them in the Mission Office and in the Brandon Ward where they have given their all to love and strengthen the members.  They have completed training Elder and Sister Tucker, and are excited to spend more time with their family.
