Mexico Bound Missionaries Arrive in MJM

These missionaries will spend some time in the MJM while they wait for their travel visas.  We are excited to have them and know they will have a great experience while they are here. Welcome Elder & Sister Oakes

Elder & Sister Oakes arrived ready to serve on Monday, we are so grateful for them and their willingness to serve,  they will help to strengthen the Greenwood Branch and will live in Grenada.

Cousins Reacquainted

Elder Bolander who will complete his mission in April found his Cousin Elder Marcum. They spent the day together as they travelled to their new areas of service.

February Arrivals

It was a beautiful day to welcome our newest missionaries.  Welcome Elders Whitehead, Nelson, Kerr, Marcum and Sisters Aebischer, and Mapu. 

Madison Ward Missionaries

We visited the Madison Ward for part of Sunday and were greeted by Elders Whiting, Judkins, Spangler, Garrett.

Jackson Branch Missionaries

We attended Sacrament Meeting in the Jackson Branch, and were greeted by Elders Hosea and Dean who are training Elders Young and Eisinger.   Elders Dean and Eisinger serve in the South portion of Jackson.  Elders Hosea and Young serve in the Central and Northern parts of Jackson.

Welcome Sister Larson

We are happy to welcome  Sister Larson from Idaho who will serve in the Employment Center in Slidell Louisiana.  She and Sister Calaway will be companions and help the patrons prepare for and find employment.  It is such a wonderful service for the community surrounding Slidell.

Gulfport and Hattiesburg MTC Experience

The Gulfport and Hattiesburg Stakes held a Mini MTC experience for the youth,  I enjoyed the sign at the door so much I forgot to get pictures of the youth as they participated. 

A Family Joins the Church in Monroe

Elders Green and  Merrill are pleased to help this family enter the waters of baptism.

Oak Grove Ward

We were able to attend the Oak Grove Ward and hear the testimonies of Elder & Sister Pack who recently returned from serving a mission in Chile.  Elders Hardin and Dietz are doing an amazing job as missionaries in the Oak Grove Ward.

Leadership Training–Hattiesburg

We finished up the week by meeting with some of our missionaries in the Southern part of the mission.  It is always great to meet with our missionaries, we love them and love to watch their testimonies grow.

Leadership Training–Monroe

We gathered the District Leaders, Zone Leaders and Sisters serving in the Western part of our mission for Leadership Training.  We had a wonderful day of training, role playing and spent the end of the day answering questions. 

Sister Tieke heads to Kiribati

Sister Tieke has been so amazing this past year as she has learned to communicate and teach the gospel while serving in our mission.  When she arrived I asked her what she enjoyed eating, her answer was simple, fish and rice.  In the South we have lots of catfish and red beans and rice – I don’t think it was the same food she was accustomed to.  She is headed back to her homeland, Kiribati which is over 6500 miles from here to complete her mission.  We have loved serving with her and will miss her beautiful smile.

Clinton Ward

We attended the Clinton Ward and were greeted by some of our missionaries favorite members and our wonderful missionaries Sisters Urie and Hawkes along with Elders Neunswander and Alvey. 

Springtime???

I love the warm weather we have been enjoying, and now we are enjoying the Springtime flowers and blooming trees.

February Zone Leader Council

We had a great time with our Zone Leaders Thursday evening and Friday.  President and the Assistants taught using the Book of Mormon.  We practiced visiting with members and inviting them to be “mentors” by reading the Book of Mormon with our investigators every week.  Welcome Elder Boggess our newest Zone Leader.
